Maj Matu'u is the Recruiting Officer and Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 835, University of North Texas, in Denton, Texas. She is responsible for a large recruiting market and areas including the Denton and Dallas metropolis where her focus and is on-campus and local recruiting events for UNT and crosstown universities as well as educating and inspiring future Air Force officers.

Maj Matu'u received her commission in 2012 through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 175, University of Hawai'i. Upon completion of initial qualification training at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California; she served as a Missile Combat Crew Commander, Instructor, and Flight Commander in the320­th and 12th Missile Squadrons. Maj Matu'u returned to the 532d Training Squadron as an instructor and flight commander of maintenance training where she led a flight of 33 noncommissioned officers and overseeing three Community College of the Air Force accredited maintenance training courses, graduating 172 missile maintainers annually.

Maj Matu'u is married to Seth Matu'u they and have three children Eli (9), Ellieanna (7), and Sky Elizabeth (5).
