Lieutenant Colonel Matthew S. Campise is Commander of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 835, University of North Texas, Denton, Texas. As such, he chairs the Aerospace Studies Department for the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and is responsible for preparing more than 100 cadets across 11 universities to commission as the next generation of United States Air Force Officers. Lt Col Campise received his commission from the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Baylor University in 2006. Upon entry to active duty, he attended Undergraduate Navigator Training and Electronic Warfare Training at Randolph Air Force Base. After receiving his aeronautical rating in 2008 he graduated from the B-52 Flying Training Course as a Distinguished Graduate. His first operational assignment was to the 20th Bomb Squadron where he served as a Standardization and Evaluation Liaison Officer and deployed to United States Pacific Command in support of nuclear deterrence operations. In 2011 he was assigned to the 712th Air Support Operations Squadron as the Chief of Weapons and Tactics, Assistant Director of Operations and deployed as the Senior Air Director for Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2014 he was assigned to the 23d Bomb Squadron as Assistant Director of Operations, B-52 Instructor Electronic Warfare Officer and deployed to United States Central Command as a Joint Fires Officer. Upon re-deployment he was appointed Executive Officer to the Commander 5th Bomb Wing and later as an Inspector General Team Chief. Following that assignment, he served as the Director of Operations to the 7th Air Support Operations Squadron where he oversaw the preparation and deployment of Tactical Air Control Party members in support of three separate combat operations. Most recently he served as Commander to the 19th Air Support Operations Squadron and deployed more than 40 Special Warfare Airmen to support multiple contingency operations.
